Interview with Arnaud Barray, President of « Millionaire Lunch » Geneva

Monde Economique: You became millionaire at the age of 32 and you are now 35, you have chaired the Millionaire Lunch Geneva, a business club reserved for millionaires, since its creation. How did you come up with the idea for the club?

Arnaud Barray: I always liked networking. Becoming a dad at 30 years old made me realise even more that time is short. I have less and less opportunities to attend events, especially in the evening because it is important for me to use my time well.

As I wasn’t able to find what I was looking for in the existing networking clubs, I decided to create an exclusive club where participants would meet during the day.

Monde Economique: With a pandemic such as the one we are going through, don’t you think it is indecent to launch such a club?

Arnaud Barray: I didn’t choose the timing, but I wanted to take this opportunity to express my vision. My vision is a club that can help entrepreneurs who need advice and / or capital for their company. We meet a business leader at every meeting and we make our networks available if necessary. Our only goal is to help people who wish to become millionaire, especially young people. We know that It is a privilege to be millionaire and that’s why we want to help others. It does not make us better, we only want to make a good use of our resources.

Monde Economique: Help grow businesses for the members and the younger ones, to benefit from your advice, your expertise and especially your network. Is this the way to create more millionaires in the future?

Arnaud Barray: There are no maximum quota for millionaires in the world. So it is doable nowadays, more than ever for everyone to become a millionaire. I started with nothing and created my own luck.
There are 27’000 new millionaires every year and the number will grow thanks to our club. The club will help whenever possible. With such a big amount of new millionaires every year, the club has a good growth possibility.

Monde Economique: How do you organised your activities?

Arnaud Barray: I have a network and various activities where I can meet people. I am also active on social networks and I come across people from different backgrounds. I often think that it might be good for the club to meet a person who could benefit from our support and why not decide to organise a lunch or an event? I then contact our WhatsApp group to propose a date for a future meeting or event and let them know who is going to participate.

Monde Economique: How do you see the Millionaire Lunch Geneva’s future for the next few years?

Arnaud Barray: Our actual ambition is to have a greater positive impact. This could be done by opening new branches, for example in Zurich or in any other city. Today our members come mainly from Geneva and Lausanne’s area. As the club grows, it could be interesting to have an App to allow members to meet not only during our events, but also while traveling. One of our Geneva’s members could for instance meet members from another branch in Munich.
