Mandarin Oriental, Geneva is pleased to announce the appointment of Christian Wildhaber as General Manager, effective 1 September 2026.
With nearly 30 years of experience in luxury hospitality, Christian Wildhaber
joins Geneva after serving as General Manager of Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta since August 2025.
Originally from Vevey and fully trilingual, he speaks French, English and German fluently, bringing to the Geneva property a strong international expertise as well as a deep understanding of the expectations of a
cosmopolitan and multicultural clientele, built over a career that has taken him across Europe and the Middle East, as well as throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
Throughout his career, Christian Wildhaber has held positions in the United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, Sydney and Guangzhou, where he developed recognised expertise in hotel operations, as well as in the opening,
repositioning and transformation of prestigious properties. Before joining Jakarta, Christian Wildhaber led Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern, where he successfully oversaw the transformation, opening and launch of the property, helping position it among Switzerland’s benchmark luxury hotels.
Closely connected to his Swiss roots and delighted to join the teams at Mandarin Oriental, Geneva, Christian Wildhaber is looking forward to returning to an environment that reflects his own background: internationally minded, rich in encounters and diverse cultures.
